Invisible HurdleA200
Invisible Hurdle
I was photographing a story in a tiny fishermen camp In Sonora, Mexico. A handful of people stay there, at the end of a dirt road, on the edge of the Sea of Cortez. They were a merry bunch and I was concentrating at getting the best photographs I could of them, when I noticed this wing-flapping line fly towards where we were. This row of Brown Pelicans flew by just as a boat was returning ashore. They were perfectly synchronised, flying only a few inches above the water. They all flew a few inches higher at the same point (at the centre of the frame), as if they all noticed an invisible hurdle they had to get over. I was dumbfounded to see this- can they see something we don't?
