I wonder if it's the same thing that caught mine- the incredible amount of layers in this picture. Did you notice how far the last hill feels? Using a two-dimensional medium, one of the photographer's challenges is to mimic our three-dimensional world as best as possible- to give the image depth and space. Using layers is one of those ways we use to fool the viewers eyes- we know that each layer is at a different distance and our brain creates the illusion of depth, making the image three dimensional.
